Today's Daily Journal Painting

Arches, SOLD
Today's painting was begun long ago in a galaxy far away! Actually, it's been sitting around the studio for at least 6 months. I decided to paint over the attempted landscape with a new spiral abstract.(inspired by Jessica Torrant) Figured I would keep the name, Arches. This is another H2O oil on canvas board, 8 x 10. It can be found in my Etsy shop.

I was just looking at the art that was posted on Etsy today and saw this and recognized it as yours before I even clicked on the painting. I had to come on over and comment. It's a little darker than your other paintings, I really, really like it! It's nice you looked at it with fresh eyes!

Congratulations on the gallery show.

Thanks Cynthia! I like the way it came out too. I think I may try more similar to it. Maybe in a bigger format. I don't know, I'm all over the place these days trying new stuff.

That's awesome that you recognized it as mine!

What wonderful work Paula! I put my work aside from time to time as well. ;) Do not feel alone in that. :) It was VERY thoughtful of you to write about Jess as well! She is a great inspiration to me too. :) ALOT of artist's are including you!Thank you for that!

Gee, when I first saw this painting I thought of snorkeling in the ocean. I like it and am glad you went back to the painting with a new outlook.

Thanks Angela and mom,
It's nice to be thought of as an inspiration!
I can see where you would get the feeling of snorkeling!

I think this is really nice painting.
I know what you mean about being all over the place, but really that is a good thing, to play that is. It is out of playing that little gems start to grow into something special.

I especially like this work. I wondered if you are influenced by Celtic art? I love Celtic spirals and Celtic art even though it is very far apart from my own work. I think perhaps I was a Celt in a former life! You might be interested to take a look at the work of Bernard Casimir (link on my blog).

Thanks for putting a link to me in your blog - I have done the same. Nice to meet you and good luck with the show.
